The Great Southern Hearts – Drive for Life campaign is the brainchild of Glenn “Yogi” Kendall of Kendall Trucking & Co. The campaign is borne from a solid belief and understanding that in the country you help out a mate whenever and however you can when they need it most. Farming is always tough and right now with the drought farmers are really struggling.
We, like Yogi, believe that farmers need more than just a “hay run”, farmers need to know that the wider community has their back and that they are appreciated.
Glenn “Yogi” Kendall has featured on the TV show Outback Truckers, and has a strong voice on social media on fighting for the rights of truckers and rural communities everywhere. Partnering with Peter Wright (of Peter Wright Transport – Kojonup), Yogi, Peter & Co will take a convoy of trucks filled to the brim with hay, feed, pellets, and any other personal necessities (for the whole family) that have been donated from local farmers, community groups, as well as local community members.
Another important goal for this campaign is to focus on the mental health and well-being of those in our rural communities, creating more awareness and understanding of the unique struggles that they face.
Beginning Monday 24th September and leaving from Kojonup in Western Australia, the convoy will make its way across the Nullarbor, stopping off at key locations along the way to share stories, meet locals, raise awareness, visit schools and local businesses, and rest on the way to where these supplies are needed most.
All Natural Meat Co will be joining the convoy as it heads towards it’s final destination in Gunnedah, NSW on the 1st of October. We will be taking a truck load of feed for livestock and supplying fresh beef, pork, lamb, chicken and seafood for the farmers and their community.
What can you do?
If you want to support farmers one of the easiest things you can do is spend money in rural communities. It is not only the farmers that are suffering it is also the owners of the general store, the local motels, bed and breakfasts, cafes etc. Spend a weekend in a rural town and spend your money. It will be appreciated.
Join us on the convoy to Gunnedah. We will give you more information about this in the next few weeks
